- American Odds
- Odds shown as a positive or negative number, where positive odds indicate an underdog and negative odds indicate a favorite.
- Arbitrage
- Exploiting differences in odds between bookmakers to make a profit regardless of the result, by betting on all outcomes.
- Asian Handicap
- A type of bet that eliminates the draw outcome by giving one team a half-goal or whole-goal advantage or disadvantage.
- Bankroll Management
- The practice of setting a budget for betting and sticking to it to avoid losing more than you can afford.
- Bookmaker Margin
- The percentage of all money wagered that a bookmaker expects to keep as profit, also known as the overround.
- Both Teams To Score
- A bet on whether both teams will score at least one goal during the match.
- Cash Out
- A feature that lets you settle a bet before the event ends, so you can lock in a profit or cut your losses.
- Decimal Odds
- A way of showing odds as a decimal number, where the total return per unit stake is easily calculated.
- Draw No Bet
- A bet where you win if your chosen team wins, and you get your money back if the match ends in a draw.
- Fractional Odds
- A way of showing odds as a fraction, where the numerator is the profit you make for every unit of the denominator you stake.
- Free Bet
- A bonus bet offered by a bookmaker that allows you to place a wager without using your own money.
- Futures
- A bet on an outcome that will be decided in the future, such as which team will win the World Cup.
- Hedge Betting
- Placing bets on opposite outcomes to guarantee a profit or reduce the risk of losing money.
- Live Betting
- Placing bets on a match while it is in progress, with odds that update as the game unfolds.
- Moneyline
- A bet on which team will win a match outright, with no point spread involved.
- Over/Under
- A bet on whether the total number of goals in a match will be more or less than a set number.
- Parlay
- A single bet that combines two or more selections, and pays out only if all selections win.
- Payout
- The total amount of money returned to you when a bet wins, including your original stake and any profit.
- Point Spread
- A handicap given to a team to level the playing field, so both teams have an equal chance of covering the bet.
- Prop Bet
- A bet on a specific event within a match, such as which player will score first or how many yellow cards there will be.
- ROI
- A measure of how profitable your bets are, calculated by dividing your net profit by the total amount you have wagered.
- Rollover Requirement
- A condition that requires you to bet a certain amount before you can withdraw bonus winnings.
- Value Bet
- A bet where the probability of an outcome is higher than the odds suggest, giving you a positive expected return over time.
- Vigorish
- The commission that a bookmaker charges for taking a bet, usually built into the odds so the bookmaker makes a profit.
